How much does it cost to rent a scooter?
To see the exact price for your specific trip, simply select your desired delivery and return times on our booking page, and our system will instantly calculate your total cost. If you'd like to see a complete overview of our rates—including scooters, top boxes, and insurance based on rental duration—please check out our Pricing page.
How can I pay for my rental?
When you book online, you pay for your reservation during checkout. You can use a credit/debit card or PromptPay. If you book in person, you can pay by card, PromptPay, or cash at the shop. The deposit is always paid when you pick up the scooter, again by card, PromptPay, or cash.
Do I need to leave a deposit for the scooter?
You'll need to provide a refundable deposit of 2,000 THB (5,000 THB for Honda ADV 350), which can be paid in cash, by card, or via PromptPay. We will also make a scan of your passport or Thai ID for our records. No worries—all the information will be sent to your email after completing your order.
Will I get a rental contract?
Yes, when you receive your scooter, we'll give you an electronic contract to sign. You'll instantly get a copy sent to your email.
How fast can I get my scooter?
Pick ASAP and we'll usually deliver your scooter within 10-30 minutes, depending on your location. Prefer a set time? Choose any delivery slot from an hour ahead onwards and we'll be there then.

For estimated delivery times to popular areas, please visit our Areas page.
Where can you deliver my scooter?
We can deliver scooters anywhere within Chiang Mai City! Whether it's your hotel lobby, a cozy guesthouse, or a hidden gem like a temple in the Old Town, simply specify your drop-off location during checkout. We'll make sure your scooter is ready and waiting for you to start (or continue) your adventure.
Do you deliver outside of Chiang Mai City?
We're happy to deliver outside Mueang Chiang Mai City when possible. If you're staying a bit further out, please contact us in advance — if it's within reach, we'll arrange it for a small fee.
Can I pick up the scooter from your store?
Absolutely! When ordering online, just pick Store Pickup at checkout. Or swing by anytime and book your scooter in person — we'd love to meet you!
Here's our location on Google Maps.
What are your hours for pickup and drop-off?
Our scooters are available for delivery and return every day from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Choose the times that suit you best, and we'll handle the rest!

If you're placing your order online and want same-day delivery, please make sure to book by 7:00 PM. After that, the system won't allow you to select same-day delivery. If you need a scooter later in the evening, you'll need to visit our store in person.
Can I extend my rental?
Yes, of course — and you can do it yourself in seconds. Open your booking dashboard (the link is in your confirmation email, or just sign in with your order number and email) and hit "Edit dates" — it reads "Edit Return Date" once your rental has started — to pick a new return date. If the scooter is still free, it's extended on the spot.

You're always welcome to contact us by email, phone or WhatsApp instead — and if your scooter is already booked after you, we'll offer another available one and arrange a swap.
Can I cancel my booking? Do I get a refund?
Yes — you can cancel any time, and the refund depends on how far in advance you cancel. More than 7 days before delivery, we keep just a 10% fee; 2–7 days before, 30%; less than 2 days, 50%; and cancellations less than 1 hour before delivery (or a no-show) are non-refundable. Refunds go back to your original payment method.

Want to keep your options open? Add Flexible cancellation in the cart and you get 100% back if you cancel up to 1 hour before delivery — see the next question. Full details are in our Terms & Conditions.
What is Flexible cancellation?
An optional add-on you can tick in the cart for 10% of the rental price (minimum ฿150). With it, the standard cancellation fees don't apply:

• Cancel up to 1 hour before delivery and you get 100% of the rental back, no deductions.
• Cancel later than that, or don't show up, and we charge just the first rental day and refund the rest.
• Bring the scooter back early and you pay only for the days you started; the rest is refunded.

The Flexible cancellation fee itself is non-refundable, and it can only be added when you book. Without it, the standard policy above applies.
Can I return the scooter early and get money back?
With Flexible cancellation, yes: you pay only for the rental days you started (counted in 24-hour blocks from delivery until you hand the scooter back, at our standard rate for that length), and we refund the difference to your original payment method. Without Flexible cancellation, unused days are non-refundable.
I don't know my delivery address or return time yet — can I still book?
Of course! This happens all the time. Just book with your best guess, and once you know the details, update them yourself in your booking dashboard or simply send us a message. Both your delivery location and your return time can be changed up to 1 hour before the scheduled time.
Can I rent a scooter for a month or longer?
Yes — and long-term is where you get our best rate: rentals of 28+ days are 25% off the daily price. Many of our customers are digital nomads and long-stay visitors who keep a scooter for months. See the full rates on our Pricing page.
What happens if I return the scooter late?
Plans change — that's fine. You can update your return time yourself in your booking dashboard up to 1 hour before the scheduled return. Running just a few minutes behind? Let us know and it's no problem. If the delay is more than 30 minutes, we may charge an additional fee as per our Terms — please keep in mind another rider may already be waiting for your scooter.
Can I store my luggage at your shop?
Yes! If you're heading to Pai or the mountains and want to travel light, you can leave your luggage at our shop while you ride.
I do not know how to choose the right scooter. Can you help me?
Sure! The fastest way: answer five quick questions in our scooter finder and we'll match you with the right bike for your height, weight, experience and plans.

Prefer to read up first? We've also written a detailed guide — check it out here.
Are helmets included with the rental?
Yes! Every scooter rental comes with 2 high-quality helmets — one for the rider and one for the passenger.
During checkout, you can select your preferred helmet sizes. Not sure which size to pick? No problem — just choose "I'm not sure", and we'll bring multiple sizes so you can find the perfect fit.

If something still doesn't fit quite right, we'll happily swap it out for a different size at no extra cost. Want to be 100% sure? Feel free to stop by our store and try on a helmet in person!
Does the scooter have a phone holder?
Yes! Every scooter is equipped with a professional charging phone holder. It features both 15W wireless and 36W wired fast charging capabilities. It is also completely shockproof to ensure your phone's camera and internal components are protected on the bumpiest roads. And of course — it's included for free!
Do you provide bungee cords for luggage?
Yes! If you need to strap a backpack or bag to the back of your scooter, simply add a note to your booking or send us a message. We will provide bungee cords with your rental completely free of charge.
Do you rent motorbikes?
Yes — in Thailand, “motorbike” is simply what most riders call the automatic scooters everyone rides here, and that’s exactly what we rent: the latest Honda Click, PCX, ADV and more. Every motorbike in our fleet is fully automatic — no clutch, no gears, just twist the throttle and go. We don’t rent manual motorcycles or big bikes.
Are all your scooters automatic?
Yes — the whole fleet is automatic, twist-and-go, with no gears to change.
Can I add a top box for my luggage?
Yes — a top box is available on the Honda PCX 160, ADV 160 and ADV 350 for ฿60/day, and just like the scooters it gets cheaper on weekly and monthly rentals. Simply add it during checkout. If you only need to strap a backpack down, bungee cords are always free — just add a note to your booking.
Can children ride as passengers? Do you have helmets for kids?
Yes, children are welcome as passengers. We stock quality helmets in 5 sizes, so even kids always find one that fits properly. Just mention it in your booking note and we'll bring the right sizes.
Are the scooters insured?
Yes, we offer two levels of coverage. By default, every scooter comes with standard government insurance covering basic medical expenses (valid driving license required). For ultimate protection, you can upgrade to our optional Premium All-Risk Insurance, which fully covers vehicle damage and theft. You can learn more about our All-Risk option below.
Do you offer full coverage (All-Risk) insurance?
Yes! You can add optional Premium All-Risk Insurance to your booking. With this coverage, we cover any damage or theft, and your maximum out-of-pocket expense is strictly capped at your deposit amount.

Note: A valid driving license (Thai or IDP) is required for this insurance and will be checked upon delivery. If you cannot present a valid license, the insurance will be cancelled, and the premium fee will be fully refunded.
What happens if I damage the scooter without All-Risk insurance?
Transparency is our standard. If the scooter is damaged, it will be sent directly to an official Honda center. You will pay the exact repair cost based on the official printed Honda invoice — no shady handwritten notes from unverified mechanics.

Additionally, a flat fee ranging from 500 to 2,000 THB will be applied to cover the transport costs and opportunity loss while the scooter cannot be rented out.
What happens if the scooter breaks down during my rental?
Just let us know and we'll take care of it — a technician will come to you, or we'll take the scooter to the service centre if needed. If the issue isn't caused by you, we cover everything at our own cost, and if the scooter simply stops running, we'll immediately bring you a replacement for free.

If the damage is caused by the rider (including a punctured tire), the repair is at the client's expense — capped at your deposit if you have All-Risk insurance.
What should I do if I have an accident?
First, make sure everyone is okay — call 1669 (ambulance) if anyone is hurt. Then call or message us right away and take photos of the scene. We'll guide you through the next steps and handle the scooter. For prevention tips, read our Road Safety in Thailand guide.
How strict are you with scooter maintenance?
We take safety extremely seriously. Every single CityGlide scooter strictly follows a 2,000 km maintenance interval. All servicing is performed exclusively at official Honda centers using only original parts. We never use third-party mechanics or cheap aftermarket parts. Safety is always our number one priority.
Do I need a driving license?
According to the law, a valid driving license is required, either an International Driving Permit (IDP) or a Thai motorcycle license. However, unless you are purchasing our All-Risk insurance, it is the responsibility of the driver to ensure they have one.
I don't know how to ride a scooter. Can I still rent one?
If you've never ridden a scooter or motorbike before, please do not rent one from us until you've learned the basics. We strongly recommend visiting the Honda Safety School in Chiang Mai to get comfortable with riding. Safety is crucial! Thailand has one of the highest motorbike accident rates in the world. For more tips, check out our Road Safety in Thailand guide.
What is ABS, and why is it important?
ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) prevents the wheels from locking during braking, ensuring better control, especially on slippery or wet surfaces. All of our scooters are equipped with ABS, except for the Honda Click 125, which doesn't come with this feature.
What if I get a flat tire?
Tires are your responsibility, but don't stress — just reach out to us and we'll help you navigate to a repair shop.

Please note: All our scooters use premium tubeless tires. For your safety, a punctured tire must always be replaced with a brand new one. We do not accept plugged or patched tires under any circumstances. Safety first!
How far can I ride with my scooter?
As far as you want! There are no limits.
Can I take the scooter outside Chiang Mai — to Pai, Doi Inthanon or Chiang Rai?
Absolutely — our scooters are new and serviced exactly for that, and the mountain roads around Chiang Mai are some of the best riding in Thailand. There's no mileage limit. For inspiration, check our guides to the Chiang Mai–Pai ride, the Samoeng Loop and the Mae Hong Son Loop.
What happens if the police stop me?
Police checkpoints are common around Chiang Mai, but they're nothing to worry about: wear your helmet and carry a valid license (IDP or Thai motorcycle license) and you'll be waved through. Any traffic fines during the rental are the rider's responsibility — riding without a valid license typically means a fine of around 500 THB.
